Welcome to HerDashery, the oldest specialty boutique for ladies in historic downtown Conway.

HerDashery opened in Conway in 1991 but the city was rich in history long before women started shopping in our shops. Originally incorporated as Kingston in 1732, the village quickly grew as a farming community with the Waccamaw River running along the edge where an area rich in pine trees could ship lumber and other commodities by boat to larger ports in Georgetown and Charleston. The name was later changed to Conwayboro and in 1883, the General Assembly changed the name to the current name of Conway.
Conway is home to two major institutes of higher learning, Coastal Carolina University and Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Coastal began as a junior college in 1954 ad has grown to an independent university with an enrollment on more than 9,000 students today. Founded in 1966, Horry Georgetown Tech opened as a trade school serving Horry, Georgetown and Marion Counties. Today, HGTC is known as a comprehensive two-year community technical college with an enrollment of over 10,000 students annually.
